For 15 years 3D Studio Engineering has been supporting its customers not only with the supply of high quality tools but also assisting the user during all production stages, from design to precision finishing.
Which toolmaker would not like a tool supplier assisting him during all processing stages and providing him the assistance of skilled specialized technicians? This is the real mission of 3D Studio Engineering, a 100% Italian company specializing in the design and production of tools for the mold sector. Ultra Performance is the brand of its products and has always been synonymous with high performance and integrated technical assistance.
The leading philosophy of 3D Studio Engineering is ongoing Research and Development. Based on strong cooperation relationships, the company is a young, efficient and motivated team eager to grow and ready to get involved every day.
3D Studio Engineering was established in 1999 in Lumezzane. Its initial activity was the industrial design with CAD-CAM software, which later developed in the commercialization of in-house designed solid carbide tools.
In 2005 the company purchased the first sharpeners which enabled them to manufacture tools without the support of external suppliers, its real end target. This decision was critical to the company’s growth, resulting in improved quality production and further increase in number of customers. Later on other 3 sharpeners were purchased which enabled greater production capacity and offered high flexibility to meet any different customer needs and specifications. Now the company has 7 sharpeners which guarantee tool accuracy and 2 µm tolerance. We have a wide range of tools for machining Steel, Copper/Aluminum and Graphite.
3D Studio Engineering manufactures not only solid carbide end mills, but also a wide range of chucks and heads. Chucks are manufactured according to DIN69893 and DIN69871
In 2008, in the light of a significant production increase, the company decided to buy a CNC 4-axis MORI SEIKI lathe and a Lizzini grinder, which allowed it to get the important result of producing shrink-fit tool holders chucks with mechanical clamping system and extensions. Subsequently a simultaneous 5-axis MAZAK lathe was purchased to machine parts with a more complex geometry, tool-holder heads. In addition to production machine, 3D Studio Engineering is also equipped with cutting-edge monitoring and balancing equipment.
Our eyes are always looking to the future
Ultra-performance products are the result of many years of work and now we are satisfied with them. However we are still committed to continuing our innovation mission, aware that keeping up is not enough, more important is to anticipate the times and propose novelties to the world of mold, which must be seen not simply as a potential tool market, but more generally as a market for our services. We are a steadily growing company: in 2012 the company moved from Lumezzane to Villa Carcina which involved the purchase of a new shed. In January 2014 the production unit was expanded through the purchase of a new structure. New machines, new monitoring devices, new additional staff: these projects are only waiting for becoming a reality. In addition, recently a new area has been inaugurated, the “Performance Area”. It is a demo space that will be used to test our tools and to train our technicians and dealers on the use of our products.
